God is in the details

I'm not sure I'd ever be able to believe that God isn't aware of me. That has been reinforced in the last 10 days. This trip has been a new adventure at every turn. We really didn't know what would happen or what to expect. We sold all of our stuff, quit our jobs and the way money has been burning up in the gas tank and at the unexpected campground spots, we have felt a bit of an unexpected pinch.
Fast forward to Amarillo Texas. It was 105 degrees the day the AC died. We didn't know how us or the cats could survive that kind of heat without AC. Luckily the next day, the high was supposed to be 85. We had someone say they could be there the next day to fix it, and then 15 minutes later, I had someone explaining to me over the phone how to fix the AC that day, at no cost.
As we are leaving Amarillo on June 19th, Ashley happens to look up to see the temple schedule in OKC. Temple closed for 2 weeks for cleaning, from June 19th to July 5th. Well that threw a wrench in our plans and we didn't know how we would be able to afford to spend an extra full 2 weeks in OKC. Well we signed up for a club called Boondockers Welcome, and the first couple we had ever stayed with lived just outside of OKC. Normally you boondock for 1-2 nights max. This couple put on their profile, "We will play it by ear". We were able to stay at their home for a week, with 30 AMP hookups, water and they let us dump our grey water in a ditch on their property. So a week of hookups for free in a place where our cats could roam at no charge. Plus they fed us the first night we got there, answered all our questions and were an answer to a prayer.
The second miracle of OKC, was making some extra scratch. My old job has a summer office of salesmen in OKC. I was able to call the tech manager and ask if there was anyone I could help while we are here for these 2 weeks, to make some extra money. Just so happened that one of the salesmen decided to be a tech and there wasn't really anyone able to train him. So for the two weeks we are here I have been able to get work and stay at no cost.
Third we met a family at church (the Pierce family) on Sunday. They were the first people to come introduce themselves after sacrament meeting, and invite us over to their home. We didn't want to overstay our welcome at the Boondockers Welcome home, so we asked the relief society president if there was anyone in the ward who might be willing to let us stay on their land. The Pierce family volunteered right away. So we are staying on 10 acres of beautiful country back land, with wild blackberries, a fishing pond, hookups, and some of the nicest people we have ever met. Before we could even ask where the laundromat was they asked us if we had any laundry we would like to do. Yep, about 10 days worth.
The last thing that makes me sure that God is always aware of us and what we are going through. The Pierce's have a small business that they have started called "Garden Anywhere Box". They have an amazing product, but have been stressed out about the business side of the business and Sister Pierce has been wondering how to get the taxes and books under control. Well the very day we show up, without knowing anything about us or our backgrounds, she buys QuickBooks Online. Ashley is a QuickBooks ProAdvisor, trained and registered with Intuit. She'd told us later that day as we were all getting to know each other, that she'd just purchased it that morning and was feeling overwhelmed. So not only are they doing us a huge solid by letting us stay here until we leave, we are able to use the skills we have to help them with what they happen to be going through as well.
I have never believed in coincidences. I believe that we are where we need to be. I believe that God is in the details. He is very aware of each one of us, and we now know why we needed to be in OKC for these two weeks. Thanks for coming on this journey with us.
This brought tears to my eyes. I love you both so much and this was amazing!!
